कुबेर पुत्रों को लगा नारद ऋषि का श्राप

 भागवत पुराण के दशम स्कंद में नारद ऋषि और कुबेर के पुत्रों की एक दिलचस्प कथा का वर्णन मिलता है। नारद ऋषि, जो अपने चंचल स्वभाव और देवताओं के संदेशवाहक के रूप में जाने जाते हैं, कभी-कभी स्थितियों के अनुसार श्राप देने के लिए भी मजबूर हो जाते थे।

कुबेर के दो पुत्र, नलकुबेर और मणिग्रीव, धन, वैभव और शक्ति के मद में चूर रहते थे। एक बार दोनों कैलाश पर्वत पर जलक्रीड़ा कर रहे थे। इसी दौरान नारद ऋषि वहाँ से गुजरे। अपने अंहकार में डूबे नलकुबेर और मणिग्रीव ने ऋषि का सम्मान नहीं किया। ऋषि ने उनकी इस उद्दंडता को देखकर उन्हें चेताने का निर्णय लिया।

कुबेर पुत्रों को लगा नारद ऋषि का श्राप;नारद ऋषि ने दोनों को वृक्ष बनने का श्राप दिया ताकि वे अपने अंहकार को त्यागकर विनम्रता का महत्व समझ सकें। हालांकि, उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि जब श्रीकृष्ण बाल रूप में होंगे, तब उनके हाथों से उन्हें मुक्ति मिलेगी। यह कथा हमें विनम्रता और आदर का महत्व सिखाती है।

Arjun Blessed by Shivaji to Kill Jayadrath

In the grand epic of the Mahabharata, there is a powerful tale about the divine intervention of Lord Shiva in the life of the great warrior Arjuna, also known as Falguni. Arjuna earned this name because he was born under the Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra, a celestial constellation associated with righteousness, success, and guidance. People born under this nakshatra are believed to find mentors or divine guides who steer them in the right direction, helping them achieve great success. For Arjuna, that guide was none other than Lord Krishna, who stood by him throughout the battle of Kurukshetra, imparting wisdom and strength. But, in this story, another divine figure played a crucial role in Arjuna’s journey—Lord Shiva.

To understand how Lord Shiva assisted Arjuna, let us journey back to the battlefield of Kurukshetra during one of the most intense moments of the war—the slaying of Jayadratha.

The Background

Jayadratha, the king of Sindhu, played a pivotal role in the tragic death of Abhimanyu, the son of Arjuna, on the thirteenth day of the Kurukshetra war. Abhimanyu, a young and valiant warrior, was trapped inside the Chakravyuha formation created by the Kauravas. Though he fought bravely, Jayadratha, using a boon granted by Lord Shiva, was able to block the entry of the Pandavas into the Chakravyuha, preventing them from rescuing Abhimanyu. This ultimately led to Abhimanyu’s untimely death, causing immense grief and anger in the heart of his father, Arjuna. Overwhelmed by sorrow and fury, Arjuna took a solemn vow that he would kill Jayadratha before sunset the next day. If he failed to fulfill his vow, he vowed to immolate himself on a pyre. This set the stage for one of the most intense battles in the Mahabharata. The Intervention of Lord Shiva Knowing that Jayadratha was protected by a boon from Lord Shiva, which made him almost invincible, Arjuna realized that he would need divine assistance to overcome this challenge. In the past, Arjuna had earned the favor of Lord Shiva, but now he needed the Lord’s blessings once more. The night before the battle, Arjuna meditated on Lord Shiva, seeking his divine intervention. As Arjuna sat in deep meditation, focusing on the image of the great destroyer of evil, Lord Shiva appeared before him. The mighty Lord, pleased with Arjuna’s devotion and determination, reassured him that he would be victorious in his mission to slay Jayadratha. Lord Shiva blessed Arjuna with the strength, skill, and wisdom to defeat his enemies. He reminded Arjuna of his past triumphs and reassured him that as long as his heart remained pure and his resolve firm, no force in the universe could stand in his way. Empowered by Lord Shiva’s blessings and strengthened by his faith, Arjuna approached the battlefield the next day with renewed vigor. The Kauravas, fully aware of Arjuna’s vow, had placed Jayadratha at the center of their formation, heavily guarded by their best warriors. They were determined to protect him until sunset, after which Arjuna would be forced to keep his vow and end his own life.

The Final Battle

The day’s battle was fierce, with Arjuna fighting through the Kaurava forces like a lion among a herd of deer. Despite their best efforts, the Kauravas could not hold back Arjuna’s relentless assault. As the sun began to sink towards the horizon, it appeared as though Jayadratha might survive the day. However, divine forces were at work. Lord Krishna, Arjuna’s eternal guide and charioteer, used his divine powers to create an illusion, momentarily covering the sun with his Sudarshan Chakra. Believing that the sun had set and that Arjuna had failed, Jayadratha emerged from his hiding place, relieved and confident. But at that very moment, the illusion was lifted, and the sun reappeared in the sky. Seizing the opportunity, Arjuna drew his Gandiva bow, invoked the Pashupatastra—a divine weapon bestowed upon him by Lord Shiva—and shot a powerful arrow. The arrow soared through the air, severing Jayadratha’s head with a force that carried it across the battlefield, far away from the protective hands of his father’s body, as ordained by the boon’s conditions. Jayadratha was slain, and Arjuna’s vow was fulfilled.

The Moral of the Story

This story is a testament to the power of divine blessings, unwavering faith, and righteous action. Arjuna, born under the Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra, was destined to have divine guides throughout his life, and Lord Shiva was one such guide who appeared at a crucial moment to ensure his success. In the grand tapestry of life, those who walk the path of righteousness, like Arjuna, are often blessed with mentors, guides, and divine interventions that steer them towards victory, even in the face of insurmountable challenges. The story of Jayadratha’s death is not just about a warrior’s vow but also about the power of devotion, the importance of divine grace, and the ultimate triumph of good over evil.

ब्रह्मा जी की पूजा केवल पुष्कर में ही क्यों की जाती है

 

पद्म पुराण के अनुसार, सृष्टिखंड, अध्याय 17 में वर्णित है कि वज्रनाश नामक एक भयानक राक्षस पृथ्वी पर आतंक फैला रहा था और निर्दोष लोगों का वध कर रहा था। इस विनाशकारी स्थिति से निपटने के लिए सृष्टिकर्ता भगवान ब्रह्मा को हस्तक्षेप करना पड़ा। ब्रह्मा ने वज्रनाश से युद्ध किया, और इस संघर्ष के दौरान, उनके हाथ में स्थित कमल की तीन पंखुड़ियाँ पृथ्वी पर गिर गईं। यह पंखुड़ियाँ जहां गिरीं, वह स्थान आज राजस्थान के पवित्र शहर पुष्कर के रूप में जाना जाता है। पुष्कर की इस कथा का महत्व बहुत अधिक है, क्योंकि यह केवल एक धार्मिक कथा नहीं है बल्कि पुष्कर की आध्यात्मिक महत्ता को भी दर्शाती है। ब्रह्मा के कमल की पंखुड़ियाँ गिरने से इस पवित्र भूमि का उद्गम हुआ और यह स्थान तीर्थ यात्रियों के लिए अत्यंत पवित्र बन गया। पुष्कर झील, जो इन्हीं पंखुड़ियों के गिरने से बनी मानी जाती है, श्रद्धालुओं के लिए पवित्र स्नान का स्थान है और यहाँ स्नान करने से पापों से मुक्ति मिलती है। इस प्रकार, भगवान ब्रह्मा और पुष्कर की यह कथा न केवल हिंदू धर्म में गहरी आस्था का प्रतीक है बल्कि इस स्थान को धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण बनाती है।

इन्द्रदेव द्वारा गुरु बृहस्पति का अपमान

 इन्द्र को त्रिलोकी का ऐश्वर्य पाकर घमण्ड हो गया था। इस घमण्ड के कारण वे धर्म मर्यादा का, सदाचार का उल्लंघन करने लगे थे। एक दिन की बात है, वे भरी सभा में अपनी पत्नी शची के साथ ऊँचे सिंहासन पर बैठे हुए थे और सब ओर ललित स्वर से देवराज इन्द्र की कीर्ति का गान हो रहा था।

However, this display of grandeur and power was overshadowed by Indra's arrogance. His behavior marked a significant departure from the humility and respect that a ruler, especially one of his stature, should exhibit. The presence of sages, deities, and other celestial beings in the assembly did not deter Indra from showcasing his haughtiness. This incident highlights a critical moment where Indra's arrogance blinds him to the values he is supposed to uphold. It serves as a reminder that power and sovereignty, when combined with arrogance, can lead to the violation of sacred principles, ultimately inviting repercussions. The episode sets the stage for potential conflicts and lessons in humility that Indra might face as a consequence of his conduct.
